Written by Chris Brooks and Simon Smith, this book (published August 2011) is a splendid all-colour, pictorial album looking at vessels and shipyards in Istanbul and the Bosphorus. The stunning photographs are each accompanied by a detailed caption.
The book is organised on a geographic basis, starting at the southern extremities of the Bosphorus, looking at vessels in the nearby harbour of Tuzla and its shipyards and anchorage. Moving on westwards is Pendik Harbour and the anchorage of Kartal. Next is Istanbul anchorage. Before proceeding northwards through the Bosphorus Haydarpasa Harbour is visited. Also vessels are viewed at Istanbul cruise terminal. The journey northbound through the Bosphorus visits locations such as Kandilli and Kanlica on the Asian side and Rumeli Hisari and Rumeli Kavagi on the European shore.
